Over the last few years medical and recreational cannabis use has skyrocketed due to legalization and decriminalization in some states. Weed consumption has grown to become an industry in itself, and more and more ways to ingest cannabis are used by consumers. From the old school blunt to an artfully crafted glass bong, to a homemade” junkie handyman” pineapple bong or the technologically advanced vaporizers, we will be taking a look today at the differences, advantages and disadvantages of vaping vs smoking.

Smoking requires that, after you skillfully craft the blunt you need to heat it up to its combustion point, and inhale the resulting smoke. This is where the problem comes in, as burning generates harmful toxins. Some of this toxins include tar, traces of ammonia and a number of carcinogens found in cannabis SMOKE. Mixing tobacco with weed into whats commonly known as a spliff is even worse, as the really harmful chemicals in tobacco (such as nicotine, arsenic, carbon monoxide, hydrogen cyanide and so many others) are mixed into the smoke you inhale.

On the other hand, vaping is the process of heating cannabis without burning it(below its combustion point). Heating is enough to release the active ingredients in marijuana, that are then released into the air in a fine mist created by the vaporizer. Since combustion does not occur, smoke is not created.

Few studies were ever made before the 2000’s regarding the use and consumption of marijuana, and most painted it as a dangerous gateway drug. But it’s massive growth in popularity over the past few years have prompted a shift in paradigm. Science has only begun to understand and acknowledge the effects and benefits of responsible cannabis consumption, but let’s take a look at what science has to say about the not so old question: smoking or vaping ?

As we have previously stated, vaping does not generate any smoke, and that will be our foremost argument. Smokers are found to be more prone to bronchitis and other respiratory affections, but it’s worth noting that it’s not the cannabinoids that are the cause, it’s the SMOKE. On the other hand vaporizing is known to have fewer risks than smoking. The lack of smoke means that much fewer harmful substances and carcinogens are ingested by the users. Vaporizers are also known to produce a more clear headed high, but there are few and not really conclusive studies if the two really do produce different types of high.

The main arguments against vaporizing have to do with the preparation of cannabis (as it must be ground into a fine consistency) the setup of the vaporizer, having to wait for it to heat up, and the cleaning required after each use. Price and portability could also be potential downsides, but the size of this growing market means you have a plethora of vaporizers to choose from, to match your own needs.

Overall, we consider vaping to be the better alternative from the two, as it is the healthier choice, and it’s downsides are just a matter of convenience.

For those of you who don’t know the G Pen Elite Vaporizer is the high end product of Grenco Science. The company was created in 2011 in Los Angeles and it is one of the first major brands of vaporizers. Their first product, the G Pen was highly praised and also won the 2014 High Times Cannabis Cup. Their product line includes the G Slim Concentrate, G Pen Oil, G Pen Micro, G Pro Herbal and the G Pen Elite.

I think the G Pen Elite Vaporizer has one of the coolest designs for a vape. It is really aesthetic. The combination of gloss on the screen blends perfectly with the rubbery texture on the part where you touch it. The screen shape and the mouthpiece are also perfectly integrated in the design. The feel of the vape is sturdy. When held in hand you do not feel any parts moving. The quality of the design work is really high-end.

The G Pen Elite Materials and Technology used

When looking at the G Pen Elite we see that only high quality materials were used. The exterior is made out of food grade plastic so that is safe to use. The heating chamber is a type of glossy ceramic that is easy to clean and provides you with perfect vapor.

The G Pen Elite uses a conduction method of heating up your weed. By using this method opposed to the convection method, Grenco Science got to take the cost of production down which in turn makes for a cheaper vaporizer. Also the vaporizer heats up very efficient which in turn helps with saving battery.

The heating chamber is made out of ceramic so your weed will not get in contact with the heating coil and thus burn. Also the size of the chamber is important, a small chamber will only hold a limited amount of weed so you will have to refill often. The G Pen has a 0.75 gram capacity so it will take a pretty good amount for your vaping session.

The temperature control allows you to set up your vape to whatever temperature you desire by having a full spectrum. The vaping temperature is between 200° to 428°F and you can set it up to the exact temperature you desire.

By using food grade plastic and ceramic, you wont feel any bad smell in your vapor and also no plastic tasting vapor. The mouthpiece is very comfortable and features a gum like material that covers it. This material helps a bit in guarding your lips from the heat but when used with high temperatures and a long session it will heat and feel uncomfortable.

History of Vaporizing. Since when do you think we vape?

If I say that vaporizing is much older than you think, would you believe me? Well probably not in the sense you might think by using a battery charged device that would exactly heat up to a temperature, but much more rudimentary.

But first let’s define vaping. If you have never heard about it, vaping is the process of heating up a material to a certain temperature until that material would release its chemical components without burning. For cannabis the perfect temperature would be somewhere between 180-210 °C. Oils and wax can be also vaporized.

History of vaporizing

Vaporizing can be attested as far back as the 5th century BC in Egypt. Herodotus who lived in this period writes that the Scythians used to throw hemp seeds on heated rocks to release a vapor that made them shout with joy. We probably would shout with joy too if we were there then.

Around 500 AD

Basically vaping in the real sense was developed in present day Afghanistan around 1500 years ago. You have probably used smoked a shisha or narghila before at an arabic coffee shop. Well this is it.

1927 USA

The first vaporizer patent was filed in the USA in 1927. This vaporizer was a mechanical butane ignition vaporizer. This is the patent for the first tobacco vaporizer.

1960’s

Modern day vaporizers appeared by this time. Mr Herbert Gilbert is known as the father of modern day vaporizers. Most vaporizers buildt are said to be buit upon his blueprint.

1990 to 1994

Eagle Bill is known as the father of cannabis vaporizers. His vaporizer model was the most viewed exhibit at the Sensi Seed Bank’s Hash Museum in Amsterdam. Also being awarded and amazing the crowd at the 1994 Cannabis Cup.

2000’s

Storz and Bickel marked the beginning of modern electrically charged vaporizers with the emblematic Volcano vaporizer. The vaporizer was an instant hit which influenced producers around the world to make their variants of desktop vaporizers. Since then as every piece of technology develops, products get smaller and technology refines to the point of a perfect vaporizing experience.

I think the design, technology and materials used in the construction of this vaporizer really make this a top of the line product.

The design is flawless. Being minimalist and simple, it blends in any home. For a desktop vaporizer it is actually, pretty small. But this isn’t the main reason I really like it. It just made me look even more into it.

The technology involved is impressive. Automatic temperature sensors, digital microprocessor temperature controller, coupling temperature sensor… Honestly a lot of things I don’t exactly understand how they work. But taking into consideration the time and effort involved in creating this product, I think it means you will get a exact and consistent temperature for vaping every time.

The materials used in the construction of the ViVape vaporizer also made me consider this product for a top of the line vaporizer. With a laboratory grade glass on glass design, no plastic parts get in contact with your vapor so you will only get a pure drag every time. Also, little plastic is involved in the construction of the viVape and so it makes for a sturdy construction. Plus, the body is made out of medical grade aluminum which helps with heat dispersion.

Top engineers have partnered up to create this really well thought out product. The high quality of construction made with top materials and a impeccable design make this one of my favorite desktop vaporizers on the market today.

Is The Cloud Pen 3.0 Any Good?

I’m, trying to find out if the Clod pen and for that matter the Cloud Pen 3.0 is any good. This is one pen that I have never tried. I was browsing the web and found some pretty good reviews on the Cloud. But would also like to get your opinion in the comments. It would be really helpful if you have prior used the vaporizer.

A bug issue that I encounter with some vaporizers is the burning effect that happens when the chamber is not separated from the  heating coil. I don’t know if there is a problem like this here and would like some feedback from you guys.

Second I would like to know how long it takes for the battery to be fully charged with its usb port and for how long it lasts?  I see that it has double the battery energy of the previous models but is it doubling the lifetime also?

I know that the product is made in the USA. I don’t know if it’s just me but I sometimes just trust products because they are produced in the USA. But how do you spot fakes? How good are fake copies? I know you shouldn’t buy copy or fake vaporizers as I fave seen they can literally explode in your face! I really wouldn’t like for that to happen. So I prefer buying a original Cloud Pen 3.0.

Also I am interested on how it works with wax or herb. Is it better with one of them then the other? I love the design though and hope it has a sturdy construction. I don’t like flimsy vaporizer pens. As I read from these reviews there is a overall YES on the product. But I would really appreciate your sincere opinion. So just drop a comment.

My First Vape Experience

Hey guys, I’m new with blogging and this is my first blog post. My name is Joanne and I’m 26 years old. I’m from Colorado. Will talk more about me on the other posts. Hope to enjoy this one and please don’t be to harsh with me.

The first time ever in my life when I tried a vaporizer was 3 years ago. I usually used to smoke a joint, blunt or dab. And of course the bong hits I could never forget those awesome nights with the crew when we got all together and had fun with 20 g.

But now I want to talk to you about my vaping experience. One of my friends bought from some website a vaporizer and I was so damn excited. To make this clear I had always had a shitty opinion about vaporizers and vaping, the first time. I think that came from these e-cigarettes which are so unhealthy. I just taught that all weed vaporizers are the same. But I was so wrong….so so wrong that now I’m in love with it.

So that friend came by and started smoking from it and passed it on. I was so high that I haven’t even realized that it’s a vaporizer and I started taking hit after hit. It was such a different smoke, that I couldn’t get enough from it. It was like a clear hit, totally different from everything else I’ve tried before. It was just brilliant. I have to mention that it was a vape pen (now all sorts of vaporizer exist, but will talk about them in the future).

More precisely it was the G Slim Herbal Vaporizer. After hitting that pen for about 4-5 minutes alone I was convinced that all my theory was completely wrong. Vaping is freaking awesome, and I said freaking cuz if you vape for the first time you’ll not want to put that pen down. This I can assure you of.

So, being so delighted about vaping I purchased one myself. But guys be careful what are you buying!

Check out the web first, ask a friend, do your homework, otherwise you will end up with a pen which will break when you think it’s heaven on earth.

The Atmos Raw I don’t suggest. It has heating problems and burnt my weed. That’s  not cool man! It’s the worst vaporizer, i don’t even want to call him vaporizer, it’s more like an electric pipe.

Which I am 100% satisfied after trying like 8 or 9 different pens (only I bought like 5) it’s the Vaporite Platinum Plus pen.

I purchased this online at a reasonable price..

 

TIP: don’t stop at the first shop or at the vaporizer’s original shop. Dig out the internet and you’ll find it at least 10% cheaper. So did I and saved myself 18 bucks.
